Overview

Ease is designed with your privacy in mind. Your journal entries and personal data stay on your device and under your control. We take your privacy seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of mental health information.

Data We Collect

The app stores the following information that you provide:

• Journal entries (intensity levels, timestamps, situation context, notes)
• Triggers you select or create
• Physical symptoms you log
• Coping strategies you record

All of this data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled.

iCloud Sync

Ease uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your devices via iCloud. This means:

• Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account
• Only you have access to your journal entries
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
• We do not have access to your iCloud data

You can disable iCloud sync in your device settings if you prefer to keep data only on your device.

AI-Powered Insights (Premium Feature)

If you subscribe to Ease Premium, the app offers AI-generated weekly summaries. Here's how your data is handled:

• What IS sent: Weekly entry counts, intensity averages, trigger names, symptom names, timing patterns, and situation context from your entries (truncated to 150 characters per entry, limited to 25 most recent)
• What is NOT sent: Your personal notes, coping strategies, or any account/device identifiers
• AI processing is handled via AIProxy, which connects to OpenAI's API
• No conversation history is stored by the AI service—each request is independent

Third-Party Services

• Apple (CloudKit): For iCloud data sync, subject to Apple's privacy policy
• AIProxy/OpenAI: For AI weekly summaries (premium only), receives the data described above

We do not use any advertising frameworks, tracking tools, or analytics services that collect personal information.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data remains on your device and in iCloud as long as you choose to keep it. You can:

• Delete individual entries at any time within the app
• Delete all app data by uninstalling the app
• Manage iCloud data through your Apple ID settings

Children's Privacy

Ease is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading or using Ease, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Description of Service

Ease is a personal anxiety journaling application that allows you to log unlimited entries, track triggers and physical symptoms, filter entries, and view trends over time. Premium features include AI-powered weekly insights, top triggers analysis, time-of-day patterns, and PDF export.

Free & Premium Tiers

Ease is free to use with unlimited journal entries. This includes full access to trigger tracking, symptom logging, entry filtering, trend charts, and viewing your past entries.

Ease Premium unlocks AI-powered weekly insights, top triggers analysis, time-of-day pattern tracking, PDF export, and the ability to backdate entries. Premium is available as an auto-renewable subscription with weekly and yearly options. See the app for current pricing.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device and iCloud account
• All activity that occurs through your use of the app
• The accuracy of information you enter
• Using the app appropriately as a personal journaling tool

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Black Noise AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the app. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
